Washington, DC is a pretty interesting place to live, and I use this space to share photographs and miscellaneous adventures that don't belong on my professional site.
Alas, Frager's Hardware, universally heralded as a Capitol Hill "Institution" went up in flames last week. I drove home from work, and as I was pulling into the drive way I could see a column of smoke straight ahead. It was obvious that it was a building fire, and that it was nearby. It was still black smoke, so I knew that it wasn't under control. I called 911, made sure that there were firetrucks on the way, and then parked my car. By the time I made it out to the street firetrucks were arriving, but it was a real mess. It took them four or five hours to get it under control, and Frager's was completely destroyed. I took a few photos, although there were hundreds of great photos posted on the web within hours.
